Speaking at the launch of America.gov at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington on Tuesday, President Donald Trump said the United States is leading China and others on artificial intelligence and that he does not want to “stifle growth,” according to the White House’s video of the speech. “Whoever wins superintelligence wins,” Trump said, adding that companies must “behave honestly” and that the Justice Department and FBI exist if firms go down a “dark and dangerous path.” Later Tuesday, Trump hosted a closed-press “Meeting and Luncheon on Super Intelligence” at the White House, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET in the East Room; Fox News listed expected attendees including Elon Musk, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Google’s Sundar Pichai.
