Hegseth overhauls military inspectors general, banning anonymous complaints without credible evidence

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered a shakeup of the Pentagon’s inspectors general system, including a ban on anonymous complaints lacking “specific, credible evidence of wrongdoing,” saying “activists, poor performers, and malcontents” had hijacked it with frivolous complaints and that “Commanders are now back in charge,” the Washington Times reported. Anonymous complaints will still be considered when they allege fraud, waste and abuse or give specific, credible evidence of substantial wrongdoing, Hegseth said. On Wednesday he joined the crew of the homeward-bound USS Abraham Lincoln, which set a record of 265 uninterrupted days at sea supporting the war against Iran, ahead of its Thursday arrival in San Diego.
